Livable, Cheap, Average
The management is so-so and they shut off the water randomly for maintenance without telling you. However, it is the cheapest I found where I feel somewhat safe and have adequate space. It is about 20 minutes from campus which adds up, but it's not terrible. The grounds are cleaner than they used to be, but there is still a fair amount of litter and dog poop everywhere. Not very walkable.

Apartment itself is good, but surrounding property can be gross
My one-bedroom one-bath apartment suits my needs. It has a cute little cutout for a breakfast bar and plenty of space for my furniture. The walls are not all perpendicular which is a bit strange, but overall it is fine. The maintenance crew answers requests quickly and does a good job for the most part; however, my second-floor patio door hasn't properly locked since I've been here (I still have a bar to prevent it from opening, but the handle lock hasn't worked) and they said there just wasn't anything they could do about it. The property itself, though, can be gross. No one cleans up their dog poop, even after management threatened to fine people for it. I get poop on my shoes more than an average amount. At one point, someone's dog pooped all over the staircase leading up to my apartment and they just left it for days. There can also be a lot of litter around and people throw bones from take-out and grilling all over the grass--my dogs find them everywhere. Also lots of cigarette butts.
I do not like the management, but I think that is standard for every apartment complex. They are not very communicative or effective. The location of the complex is also not ideal. It is about 20 minutes from school and there is nothing within walking distance, nor are there sidewalks to do so. Overall, though, when it is just me in my apartment, everything is fine. I was looking for the cheapest place I could find that was still somewhat safe, and this fits those needs.
