Best building, mediocre location

I live in a 1 bedroom flex 2 (also can be a flex 3 with one small, windowless room). Both bedrooms are large in size and have ac/heat in the rooms. The kitchen and bathroom are all updated and clean. The building itself its well maintained and updated. Building has a small gym, a rooftop, and in building laundry. The location is not ideal since it is so far downtown but it is right across from the seaport. So, there are a number of restaurants, bars and shops around.

Most importantly, this is a safe, clean and well-maintained building. I feel comfortable at night knowing that there are 24 doormen.

Not the best

The leasing process is the worst, especially if you need guarantors. Rockrose employees are extremely unresponsive and tend to be condescending. I never had a good experience with any employee. The building allows for flex rooms but you cannot building up to the ceiling or have doors. You have to get very creative or pay people off to get a door or flex built to the top to ensure privacy. That being said the rooftop is awesome and had an outdoor shower which is key for hot summer days. There’s a gym, lounge, laundry room on the 4th fllor, front desk (great for packages) and concerige laundry service that will do your laundry or dry cleaning for a fee. Duane Reade right under the building is key and theres a grocery store is right around the corner. You are very close to several subway lines and the South Street Seaport is up and coming and awesome in the summer.

Excellent Building

I enjoy coming back home from work. It's an awesome studio. The building is a luxury one and the best part of it other than the gym, etc is the rooftop. It's just amazing. You can see both the bridges, Brooklyn and Manhattan bridge. Management is great.

Great FiDi building with good transportation connections

A post-war high-rise doorman building with a great a gym.

The apartments have high ceilings and new amenities.

Close to Fulton street public transportation hub. Street can be a bit noisy during the rush hours. Close to good restaurants and bars. South Seaport Shopping plaza will be fully opened soon.

This is a great apartment and great area! There is a nice laundry room, lounge, rooftop, and gym. I feel very safe in this area of the city. There are all subway lines nearby and it is very convenient. Doormen are very friendly and helpful and so is the maintenance staff.

Quiet, but still enough to get the job done

This apartment building remains quiet yet lively at the same time. There are great amenities available, as well as nice neighbors. I know I would definitely live here again. Pets are allowed so this was a huge plus for me. However, you may have young people living here so expect some parties sometimes.

Great Location, Not So Great Cost

Windows overlooking the East River, spacious one bedroom apartment shared with roommates. Expensive rent is a trade off for amazing location and rooftop access. The building is clean and well maintained, and the maintenance staff is efficient and friendly.

The neighborhood is quiet and has a community feel. There are a few undergraduate schools (Pace and Kings) but it does not feel like they dominate the area. It is mostly occupied by young couples and small families. Lots of schools in the area. Quiet and residential, but with the feel of a city. The neighborhood can be expensive, but you get a lot for your money. A lot of the restaurants in the area are on the more expensive side.
Love Fidi - it is quiet, great bars/restaurants, and you can get a good deal on rent.
Living in the FiDi was a great transition for a small town girl moving to the big city! Pretty much everyone goes home by 6 which leaves the streets quiet. The financial district is the part of the city that sleeps. There's multiple affordable grocery shops in the neighborhood, great dining on Stone St and it's home to the charging bull and The World Trade Center!
I love living in the Fidi. It's close to every public transportation, you can walk East or West quickly. It's growing in ways I don't love, and I worry that it's just going to be one big mall soon.
The neighborhood may not have the hottest bars or cheap eats, but your access to almost every subway line makes it easy to get places.
Kind of dead at night and weekends, but feels very safe and the quiet is nice. Also very transit-accessible, which is great.
Nice neighborhood, very quiet, close to many bars and restaurants and close to Fulton St transportation.
Safe, barely any noise at night. The only problem is the closest grocery store is a 10 min walk away.
