Expensive for a simple 2 bedrrom apartment, but convenient

The apartment is small and simple, it could be cheaper!

Phone Service

I really love living in VDC Norte, but the only challenge is that I have no cell phone service. This make it really difficult to stay in touch with my family or even have a phone interview.

VDC Norte

I am satisfied with this student dorm. Clean and safe. Close to my school. Rent is cheaper than other communities in Irvine.

The only thing that I am not satisfied is a bus from the community to the school. It is sometimes fully occupied and I cannot get in. I had to wait for the bus which has a space to get in for 20 minutes.

Decent living at a very high cost

Decent, well furnished apartment with good amenities including washing & drying machines attached with each unit. Each room has a bed, study desk and chair, however the bed is a tad uncomfortable (its too high and the mattress is not comfortable). My main complaint, however, is that the rent is too high for students. The lack of available student housing in time for the start of the academic year and the need to be near to campus necessitated my decision to live here. The only way to avoid paying high rent is to fit 4 or 5 people into one apartment (which is not allowed by ACC and in any case every student must have a right to a private bedroom and bathroom at a reasonable cost).

Great for Single Students

If you don't have a pet or a family, then VDC Norte is great for UCI graduate students. While the school shuttle system isn't always the greatest, the apartment itself is awesome with a ton of amenities already included with your rent. Graduate students are housed in fully furnished 2 bed/2 bath apartments that have a dishwasher and a washer/dryer with electricity, parking, internet and cable TV already included with your rent.

Tip #1: Ask for a high floor as cell service can be spotty on the lower floor
Tip #2: Apply early online and call about emailing over your paper application that same day, so that you can be processed quickly.

"Close to campus, but expensive"

VDC Norte is a well-furnished, safe place to stay that is about a mile from the business school. The Anteater Express has three stops along the apartment complex so it is very easy to get to and from classes even if you do not have a car or do not wish to walk. I enjoy the fully-furnished space and having my own bedroom and bathroom. My roommate and I share a spacious kitchen and living area with a balcony and washer/dryer. The community is graduate-only and quiet hours are adhered to. Parking spaces are always plentiful and are included in your (rather expensive) rent. Be prepared to pay upwards of $1000 a month.

Great

VDC Norte is great. Higher price but everything you could need and more is included. Quiet. Bus stops right in front go to campus.
