Great if you have a car
Location : It is located near the Briarwood mall so that it takes about little less than 10min from Ross by car, and I recommend you to buy parking place near ross if you want to use it every day.
Facilities : Depends on the apartment, there are some differences of facilities. Please check inside before you signed the contract.
Parking : Indoor parking is provided. As you know well, there is heavy snow here...

A great spot to rest your head after a stressful day at school
I really enjoy living at Harbor House. I've had no problems with the staff so far. The location is set off, so it's quieter. That being said, I'm really only a 5-10 minute drive, 15 minute bike, or 30 minute bus ride to school. The bus line is right outside the clubhouse and is free for students. It'll drop you off right next to the Law Quad outside of the Michigan Union.
There is a $25 pet fee and covered parking (which I highly recommend for the winter) is only $35. The covered parking is inside a garage attached to the apartment, so you don't have to walk outside. It also has an electric door, though theft isn't something you really have to worry about.
There is a dog park too if you have a pet and complimentary bags and trash cans for poop. If you have kids, there's a little playground just down the corner too.
The complex has a 24 hour gym, which has all the basics (no squat rack sadly), a coffee bar, sauna, spa, and pool.
Maintenance staff is great. Andrew and Dennis are the two I usually see, and they are really responsive to getting things fixed as quickly as possible.
Lastly, my unit has upgraded appliances and floors. It's $100 extra, but totally worth it. Also, some come with a gas fireplace which is nice in the winter. Each unit comes with a storage closet as well. I recommend getting a space on the second floor, because the first floor storage units will be in the garage area. Second floor storage units are located inside the building and are much nicer.
I'm really happy we came across this spot!

Harbor House
We visited multiple apartment complexes last year during GBR and visited Harbor House on a whim. We're so glad that we did! Here are a few of the things that helped us make our decision.
Perks of Harbor House:
Commute to campus: On our bikes (approx. 15-20 min) by car (approx. 7 min) or by bus (a bus line stops right in front of our property complex).
Covered Parking: We're originally from California so having covered parking was a must (Covered parking was a $35 flat rate for the year).
Grocery Stores: Harbor House is also ideally located next to Busch's (a local grocery store you could walk to) and is only a short drive away from Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, Target, Costco, and Meijer.
Pet Friendly: We don't have a dog (yet) but would really like to get one eventually. It's a very pet friendly complex with no weight restrictions (some breed restrictions) and a large fenced in dog park.
Noise Level: Very quiet. Even on game days, the complex itself is pretty quiet which makes it very easy to study.
Safety: Ann Arbor is general is a pretty safe place. We haven't had any problems or heard of any issues with safety at our complex in the time that we've lived here.
Gym and other Amenities On-Site: There is a 24hr gym, tennis courts, swimming pool, hot tub, sauna, and a pretty nice club house that you can study or reserve to host private events. You can also grab free Starbucks coffee and tea in the morning before you head out.
Storage unit that comes with your apartment: A definite perk for us. We live on the second floor so our storage unit is inside and on our floor. The first floor units get a gated storage space inside the garage.
Electric and Gas Bills: Our electric and gas bills are much lower than we expected after hearing horror stories of high rates in the winter.
Things to Consider:
Some areas of the complex are a little run down (built in the 1990's) but is currently going through renovations and upgrades and a change in management. Also many of the apartments will still have older cabinetry and appliances. We're currently in a unit that is going through renovations.
Maintenance: The team is absolutely wonderful but they are short staffed and split between 2 complexes. It can take a little while for a basic work order to be pushed through but they're pretty good at attending to emergencies immediately.
Vicinity to Downtown Ann Arbor/Kerrytown: If living downtown is important to you than Harbor House probably isn't for you. We're only a short drive to downtown (approx. 5-10 min) and that doesn't bother us but if you want to constantly be down at the bars and restaurants you may want to look at a closer complex or renting a house downtown.
Overall, we have had a very pleasant experience here at Harbor House and decided to renew our lease for the following year.
