Decent for the price and location

I've had an overall good experience for the past few years at this location. They do need to offer a little more to long term residents as far as continued maintenence. Changing smoke detectors and a new air filter don't go a long way after 4 years of normal wear and tear. The grounds are nice and kept well, gym facilities, club house and pools are nicely maintained. Great access to everything you need an 10 mins from DT

Great Place, Great Location

I've lived here for two years and absolutely love it. You literally will not find a better place in this location. It comes with a washer and dryer and that's hard to find. You cannot beat the price for this awesome location! I can also walk to Starbucks and the grocery store.

My First Apartment

Came to Austin for the UT Economics MA program. It's only one year, so I needed something not too expensive but nice. This apartment was exactly what I was looking for. Staff is fantastic and haven't had a major problem yet. They did take a little while on repairs but eventually it all worked out. Would recommend!

Highly Recommend the Retreat

Great location & price. highly recommend this apartment complex. the gym is 24 hours and it is on south lamar near tons of dining and right next to the highway. there are also trails nearby and two pools. 360 & mopac are right down the street as well.

Retreat at Barton Creek

Grounds are pretty and well kept. People are mostly quiet. The only thing the drives me crazy is that the wifi in the gym is really spotty and the gym itself is a little out of date. Nice view of the infinity pool from the gym though. Love the location of my unit and the office staff are great. They throw fun holiday parties alot through the year as well which is a nice touch.

Getting around Barton Hills

Barton Hills Reviews

5 reviews
-An exit away from downtown
-walking distance to the greenbelt and zilker park (major bonus around ACL, FUN FUN FUN, and Trail of Lights)
-a little bit trapped because of the highway in times of high traffic. You only have one way out and that means Mopac
-you have to drive a bit to get to a gas station that isn't in Collingwood/Bee Caves aka more expensive than normal gas stations
-there are always a lot of people walking dogs so I feel comfortable walking and running at most times
I love the Barton Creek neighborhood. There are plenty of restaurants right next to my apartment and 3 comic book/board game shops within a five minute drive. It's perfect for me!
The Woods apartments are right off Mopac and convenient to hop on the Greenbelt Trail and hike to Zilker Park and Barton Springs (1 mi). Taco Deli is on the corner too!
Great for being close to the Greenbelt and walkable to Zilker, however there is literally NOTHING to walk to in terms of grocery (just a small mart), restaurants (love having Tacodeli close but it closes mid-afternoon), bars, stores, etc. Makes me tempted to move downtown..
Close to a slew of restaurants (waking distance), grocery stores, the Barton Creek Mall and Brodie shopping areas, as well as easy highway access to 71, 35, Mopac, and 360.
