An Oasis of Comfort and Light

Living at Cole has been an absolute delight. The spacious interiors of my unit provide a sense of openness, and the natural light flooding through the large windows creates a warm and inviting atmosphere.

The central location is a huge plus, offering easy access to shopping, dining, and recreational spots. The management team is incredibly responsive and friendly, ensuring a positive living experience.

In summary, Cole is a perfect blend of comfort and convenience. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a stylish and well-managed living space.

Good location, no amenities

The apartment is in the Barton Springs/Zilker neighborhood so it is close to downtown and school and located on a major street. However, unless you plan to dine at fancy restaurants frequently or use Zilker/Town Lake everyday, the location is not that useful.

There are few quick serve restaurants (P. Terry's and Schlotzskys). Whole Foods and Trader Joes just across the river.

The pool is very small and does not get sun that much due to location. The gym is tiny and has old machines, a non functioning TV, and no hygienic wipes. There is no indoors common area for hosting guests.

Maintenance staff does a good job but I've never had as many maintenance issues with an apartment as I have had here (bad construction I guess), and they are too busy to really maintain the cleanliness of the building (trash chutes and areas are very dirty and there is broken glass leading from them to where the trash is picked up).

The management is attentive and friendly and responds to requests.

Lots of people have dogs but I would not characterize the apartment as a good one for dogs.

Overall this is marketed and priced as a nice apartment building and while the units are nice and it's in a desirable location, I don't believe it is a good value.

Good Location, Experience Depends on Unit

I enjoy my time at The Cole, especially because of the location. It's walking distance to Zilker Park which is crucial

Getting around South Lamar

South Lamar Reviews

Great neighborhood to visit, just alright to live in.

- There are lots of restaurants but few are quick serve and many are pricey, so they get old fast.
- Very nice to be next to Zilker and Town Lake, but we don't use it as often as we could.
- Being close to a large park that hosts lots of large events and located at a major intersection (Barton Springs and S. Lamar), there are lots of drunks, bad drivers, litterers, and homeless people. Also, lots of aggressive bikers illegally using the sidewalk which makes walking your dog a nuisance.
I love this area because you are close to great local bars and restaruants, and still have plenty of green space! I have an active dog and this is a great area for dog lovers. I feel relatively safe and it's only a ten minute drive to downtown!
Close to grocery stores, a few fast food restaurants and a coffee house. Pretty quite neighborhood. About a 5-10 minutes from downtown. A lot of construction right now with all of the new houses and duplexes going up.
I enjoy being able to walk to some good restaurants and bars. I love having Torchys Tacos. Target and Sprouts are also pretty walkable shopping choices, which is convenient.
It's a very hip neighborhood that constantly has construction wither for new businesses or condos. People are slowly getting priced out of the neighborhood.
Love it
Or do, it doesn't matter, everyone knows this is the next "place to be in Austin" after south congress has run it's course. New restaurants and shops are going in everyday, and there's always fun local things to do. Traffic is horrendous, and so are the roads. I only hope that the City of Austin realizes that the roads need enhancement for further growth. Make more bike lanes!
The South Lamar area has all the shops and restaurant I love super close by. I really like the location of my complex and always feel safe at any time of day. That is extremely important for a young woman such as myself.
