Great Apartment

Good apartment - quiet neighborhood, pet friendly. Doorman 24/7 - they are all extremely friendly and helpful. Two elevators in the building, laundry in the basement. No issues at all - management is easy to work with and the residents are all really friendly.

Midtown East Reviews

Quiet neighborhood all the way on the East side. Close to bars, restaurants, etc. but removed enough to be on the quiet side. Close to a walking/bike path along the East River.
My apartment experience has been very good so far. It is in a very safe neighborhood and due to the location in East midtown Manhattan, my building is in the center of public transportation, restaurants, stores, Bloomingdale's, movie theaters, gyms, etc. The only down side is that due to the way one or two of the streets nearby are located, one has to watch for pedestrian accidents as my mother had an accident when she was crossing the street and had the right of way. It can also be noisy but that's part of living in Manhattan.
I love the Sutton Place neighborhood. It is very clean and less chaotic than most midtown/downtown neighborhoods. It is easily accessible to campus and to lots of bars and restaurants. And although it's not cheap by any means, I think you do get more for your money than a lot of other neighborhoods. It's the perfect balance of all factors for me.
Sutton Place is a small, friendly neighborhood. The neighborhood runs from the Queensboro Bridge at 59th street south to 53rd street and from the East River west to 2nd avenue. The eastern part of the neighborhood has strict zoning, making it very quiet and peaceful. It is also dotted with small parks overlooking the east river at 54th street, 55th street, 56th street, and 57th street. The neighborhood also sports several local vendors that are adored by residents and non-residents alike, including a butcher, a fishmonger, an artisanal cheese shop, and a fish monger.
Midtown East is a great neighborhood to live in. I have access to the subway and bus if I need to get to campus. It is also walking distance from all major shopping areas and tourist attractions (like Rockefeller Center). There are a ton of restaurant options along 2nd avenue as well.
If you're looking for a neighborhood within NYC, this is the place to be.
Clean, Friendly, Close to public transit
This area has tons of restaurants that are really good. It is not a super business heavy area once you get past Lexington, so the crowd is younger people who actually live in the area. There are a ton of wine bars and other more casual sports bars. There is also access to Grand Central and the bus route stops all over 2nd Ave.
