Far from campus but good
We moved here because my partner works in Cool Springs. It’s far from campus, but traffic is rarely bad on highway 65 so my commute isn’t much worse than those of my friends who live in west or east Nashville. It takes me about 25 minutes most days.
IMT Cool Springs is conveniently close to a lot of grocery stores (Publix, Kroger, Costco, Whole Foods) as well as big box stores like Target. I don’t like the business district where the complex is located because it feels a bit sterile, but there are several nice parks nearby (Marcella Vivrette, Harlinsdale Farm) and the complex backs up to a tree-covered hill that’s very beautiful in the spring and summer.
The staff at IMT Cool Springs have been really nice and we have had a really pleasant experience with all of the facilities staff. They always take care of our requests very quickly. Other amenities we’ve appreciated are two well-kept pools, gym spaces, car cleaning centers, and self-use doggy spa centers. We’ve used all of these and been pleased with the quality and cleanliness.
The complex has a fair number of families with kids, so I recommend looking around (preferably during hours when kids are playing) the complex a bit if you want to get a sense for areas that might be quieter. There is generally a nice feeling here. Most people have kids or dogs, and the complex hosts cute community-building things like patio decorating contests at Halloween.
Sometimes the distance from my friends/events in Nashville is a hindrance, but overall I’ve been happy living here and would recommend it.
