Overall great

Neighborhood is safe and super convenient. Everything you need is a short walk away including a Trader Joe's, TJ Maxx, Target, and many restaurants.

It is a very old building (used to be a hotel according to my neighbor) so there are frequent maintenance issues (lights going out, windows not closing, elevator issues, laundry room renovations) but management is super responsive and they have mostly been resolved within 1-2 days.

Their online portal is easy to use for rent payments and maintenance requests. There is a property manager in the first floor office from 9am to 5pm on weekdays, so that's very reassuring and helpful too.

Overall, a great spot for anyone looking for an affordable and historic-feeling old timey apartment in a great location. Also, LOTS of sun and I'm not even that high up. The floorplans are also well thought out, and feel a bit bigger than when I go over to friend's apartments of the same square footage. The property manager provides great video tour links for anyone searching from out of state as well. Highly recommend.

My only cons are that the washing machines are a old and don't seem to be great at cleaning my clothes, and that there is no gym, but hey I get what I pay for.

Lake View Associates Review- Lincoln Park

This apartment is definitely great for starting out if you’re on a tight budget. The location is excellent! You get a neighborhood living whiles surrounded by 2 main streets with diverse restaurants and lots of outdoor activities options. It’s close to transportation and grocery stores (Target, Trader Joe’s) which makes it very convenient. Additionally, it takes you less than 30mins to get to the Chicago campus with public transportation. However, the amenities in the apartment are not impressive. I have a studio that is okay and maybe too small if you’re used to living in bigger spaces. There’s no gym, no internet in the common places, and laundry is super expensive! The amenities in the apartment are not very great as well. In all, it’s worth the price considering such a superb location.

Terrible Management

Management:
- The pilot light in my oven went out 12+ times. Gas leaked each time but mgmt eventually stopped re-lighting the pilot. I physically could not light the pilot and they told me they were "offended" I could not. I eventually called 911 so they could as gas was leaking. Management was incredibly offensive and rude. I asked that they smooth out their tone so we could have a productive conversation, which resulted in a slew of offensive phrases directed towards me. I asked to speak to the owners to inform and they refused.
- Animals defecate in the hallways. I told management and they said it is not their responsibility. I asked if common areas were their responsibility, to which they said yes.
- Often, maintenance fixing one problem causes another. My tub stopped draining. When they went to fix the blockage, they burst the pipe. The apartment below me had water damage, and they had to remove the dry wall in the hallway (outside of my bathroom) as well as bath tub tiles.
- There are often parties on the roof top. Management does not monitor the parties, noise, or garbage produced. Garbage rots in the sun and gathers flies.
- I've been on the roof top when mgmt tours potential renters. I've heard them say numerous times that there is wifi access on the roof. There is not.

Good Building for students/young professionals

Overall, I am happy with the building, the staff are friendly, the roof deck is pretty sweet, and I haven't had any issues. One complaint is the cost of using the laundry machines is almost 2x the norm at $2.25 per use.
For the 2 times I've needed to make minor service calls, it was quick and there were no issues.
As for many apartments, you can hear unintelligible conversations of neighbors and the occasional music beats.

Perfect location, vintage charm

Overall, we have been very satisfied with out renting experience. The apartment has fantastic vintage charm (the building used to be a hotel in the 1920's) with a beautiful view of the lake and Lincoln Park. Though the kitchen is rather small and the amenities are not new, the kitchen does have a dishwasher and the sun deck, laundry facilities, and small exercise room are nice. The lobby and halls are kept very clean and there are no issues at all with other tenants (noise, complaints, messiness) whatsoever.

Solid Short Term Apartment

2738 N Pine Grove provides very small studio apartments (about 280 sq ft), but is really all you need when living alone and well worth it for the location (parks, zoo, shops, grocery stores, restaurants, and plenty of bus lines within easy walking distance)! It is an old building but relatively clean and the rooftop deck is a great bonus during the summer!

The location is probably one of the best in the city. It's close to everything but also quiet enough. The management is top notch. They respond to issues quickly and are very friendly. Our apartment is very sunny, spacious and was cleaned before we moved in.

Lincoln Park Reviews

Love living in Lincoln Park - so many good restaurants and parks around, and it's more removed from the busy downtown area. It's nice to have a little bit of distance from campus. There are multiple bus routes to the hospital (151, 22, 36) that are reliable and usually run every 15-30mins. I thought the commute might be bad, but it's the same amount of time that it previously took me to walk from my Gold Coast apartment to school, and I'm much happier living in LP. Only downside is that while it's cheaper than Streeterville/Gold Coast, it's still a pretty expensive area to live. Having roommates helps a lot and cheaper options do exist, but they're generally further from campus.
This neighborhood is great if you are mainly into packed sports bars. Other than that, though, it also has a variety of restaurants, many of which are BYOB, and there is a Whole Foods half a block away. You can also join the DePaul gym as a non-student for about $80/month. It's about 2 blocks away and has absolutely everything you would want.
Lincoln Park is a great neighborhood, lots to do and safe for the most part. This building is located between two L stops and on a busy street with a bus that runs frequently. The grocery stores are a bit of a hike, especially when Carrying your bags. Living next to the blues bars is good entertainment on late night, but can draw in a sketch crowd
Lincoln Park is the perfect neighborhood for anyone post-graduate and up. Great restaurants, fun bars, and close proximity to other popular Chicago neighborhoods, you really can't go wrong anywhere in the neighborhood. Mostly populated by college kids, young professionals, and new parents, you always feel safe when walking around. Everything important is within walking distance and when the weather is warm, there is nothing better than walking around Lincoln Park Zoo or the Lakefront Trail. Additionally, the red line, purple line, and brown line are all easily accessible. There are also ample bus stops and bike lanes.
I've lived in Lincoln Park for almost 3 years and absolutely love it. The area is relatively safe, there are tons of bar/restaurants, the lake is a short walk away, there are many public transit options and there's an overall energetic vibe since it's full of young professionals and new families.
it's an excellent neighborhood, right outside the lincoln park zoo. there are some restaurants and shops within walking distance. although you still have to walk a little bit, maybe 15-25 minutes. extremely safe neighborhood, very social. great for families
This neighborhood combines the ease of the city with the feeling of a more suburban neighborhood. There are many nearby bars, restaurants, grocery stores and shopping. At the same time, there are great schools and side streets that feel very residential.
This particular part of Lincoln park is great. It's a quieter area with a nice mix of young families, young professionals, and students. Easy access to many grocery stores. Unfortunately it's about a 12 minute walk from the el.
