It's aight

The studio serves it's purpose. it doesn't get much sunlight, and there's the occasional mouse or roach. The neighborhood is nice except for however stole my car... Look for Apartments early in NJ, don't rent in Philly

Good place for partnered pet owners

Hard to beat the location. Super easy access to 2 trolley lines, 15 minute walk to Penn campus, and right next to Clark Park. It's an older building, which comes with older appliances, creaky floors, and cracks and crevices that are hard to get clean. Decent floor space but very little storage space. Utilities are included which is convenient, though the internet slows down when multiple devices are using it. Two coin-operated washers/dryers in the basement. Management often fails to handle maintenance requests effectively, but otherwise is OK. Would recommend the corner units for a couple with pets, if you're splitting rent it's a pretty decent value.

Chester Hall Apartments

I've lived here for 2.5 years now (including 8 months in quarantine), and I've been grateful for the home. It's a little small, but it is an affordable price in a great neighborhood, and the management is responsive, with friendly maintenance workers and other staff. There is laundry on site, but it is only coin-operated ($1.50 for wash, $1.50 for dry) and tends to break down often. Neighbors are friendly and management is great! An excellent place for a grad student.

Great place to live

I really love where I’m living—was here during 1L and renewed my lease for 2L—am considering staying for 3L. It’s a bit small but it works perfectly; it’s just me and a cat here.

University City feels very safe with so many students living in the area as well as the added presence of University security. There are plenty of restaurants and easy access to basic necessities (e.g. grocery store, pharmacy). I really like it because it makes getting to work super convenient and street parking is much more available for visitors (or if you're like me and occasionally borrow your parents' car) compared to other areas of the city. It is also very close to the Schuylkill River Trail for walking/running/biking, is a quick walk into Center City, and gives you easy access to a variety of public transportation as well as major highways.

I love living in this neighborhood! There are a few parks nearby, and there's all kinds of great food places. I definitely try to be cautious and aware of my surroundings, but overall I feel very safe where I live. I love that I can easily walk to school and that the SEPTA trolley lines go right past my house- easy to get to center city for internships, etc.

Lately it has gotten a little noisy at night on my street, but otherwise I have few complaints about the neighborhood.

Living along Baltimore Ave is great - tons of small shops, restaurants, and bars. It's also really easy to get to school or center city on the trolleys. Neighborhood has all the city amenities but is way cheaper and quieter than center city.

I am in UCity, right across the street from the law school. It's quiet but it is kind of far from rittenhouse and center city. There are only a few restaurants and bars around here, but its a short uber into the city.

For Penn students, the location is perfect, less than a five minute walk to school. There are bars, food, etc though center city offers more options.
