Come if you prefer the amenities, otherwise stay away

Positives: units have their own washer and dryer, there's not a lot of room for a studio but good amount for 2 bds, the units are clean and the appliances are clean because it's a new building.

Negatives: not a lot of storage space (not enough shelving, kitchen cabinets or counters), the trash and recycling builds up quickly and can be left alone for weeks, lack of parking (only street parking, and we experienced vandalism), the walls are thin and we could hear noises at all times of the night, management is not very responsive. We've had packages stolen repeatedly (and the management sent emails to tenants saying theft is an unfortunate fact that everyone has to deal with & we should send packages elsewhere). They gave a discount at move-in, but then charged us again a year later - a $150 charge for a background check, on top of other move-in and application fees. When we applied for other residences, they refused to give references until we gave them the 30 day notice (and we didn't want to give them the notice until we secured a new apartment, a chicken-and-egg situation), which made my application to a new apartment difficult and jacked up my security deposit. They charged us for electricity on top of the bills we pay separately to the power company. When we moved out, we saw a ton of other tenants moving out at the same time, and each of them has their own reasons for leaving. Folks should be aware of them not having elevators (which is common in Portland, admittedly), so the ground units are the only ones that can accommodate for disabilities.

Overall, since the prices of this type of apartment is competitive and there's in-unit W/D, it may be worth it for folks to overlook other issues.
