Friendly staff and maintenance
The staff is great and the community is nice. Upkeep could be a bit better in common areas and neighborhoods can be loud sometimes. Overall a nice enough community to spend three years in.

I would rather have commuted 1.5 hours than live here
No matter how many times I bleached the entire place (i bleached weekly), cockroaches climbed out of everywhere all the time. When i was in the bathroom that had no access to the outdoors (no windows), there was a 50-50 chance a roach would jump out. The paint was painted on the wall so many times it was sticky and would peel off the walls when warm out. The neighbors were obnoxious, letting their children scream and cry at all hours of the night. Even when management was informed of this, they did nothing and the neighbors got worse. Other neighbors marinated their food openly outdoors, attracting bugs. Management just collected the check and were of no help. I felt unsafe and would not leave the apartment when it was dark out. I tried to stay on campus at school as long as I could to avoid going back home. Moved out of there over a year ago and still receive notifications from management regarding move out.

BEWARE
Do not recommend. Pest issues, management is very dismissive.

Kings Manor review
My experience so far has been good as it is right down the street from the law school. It’s a safe area, and rent is reasonable without giving up safety. Have had some issues with maintenance, but everything else has been great.

King’s Manor Apt B4
The leasing office is great. I always bug them with questions and they never make me feel bad about it.
We have had some maintenance issues right after move in, so that is why I deducted points. But I have a very clean apartment and it has all the space me and my sister (who I live with) need. We also lucked out with neighbors… they aren’t loud or bothersome at all.
There is also some other law students who live here, so it’s been nice forming a community that way.

Decent place to live as a student. It's 10 minutes from downtown Harrisburg, 20 minutes from Carlisle, 30-35 minutes from Lancaster, and 2 minutes from Widener Law if you go there. Maintenance requests get taken care of pretty quickly, and the management company maintains the grounds really well. They also offer gigabit internet through Xfinity through an amenity fee, which is actually cheaper than getting your own plan for even half of the speed from either Verizon or Xfinity. The pool is nothing amazing, but there is a pool.
On the downside, the property is on the older side, so things will break down. However, the management company is slowly renovating units, so that may change (as well as the price for a unit). Most of the tenants are smaller families or older people, so if you fall into that bracket you'll fit right in. If not, you might feel a little out of place. That said, the parking can sometimes be a pain. When people have friends over and you get home late, you may not find a parking spot at your building and have to go to a different one.

Older apartment complex for the price, but the location is ideal.

I love it but I know a lot of Widener students hate the complex. It's geared towards low income families and I know a lot of Widener students are not used to being around low income families. I'm from a not nice neighborhood in Philly so I really like the apartment, but I probably wouldn't recommend to law students, who are typically from middle to upper class families and from nicer areas and have parents paying for their rent.
