Great apartment close to the law school!

My roommate and I have been in our apartment since 1L year. It is super close to campus - only about 2 blocks and less than a 5 minute walk. Honestly, this was the selling point for us, because my roommate didn't have a car at the time. I would 100% recommend finding an apartment within walking distance, because the parking situation isn't great near the law school. The apartment is older but it works. It's approximately 850 square feet and in good condition. The monthly utilities aren't outrageous. The parking isn't free, but I would recommend NOT paying for parking at the apartment complex. The "parking lot" has a ton of potholes and the spaces are super small. There is free street parking on the road bordering the apartment - and most of the time, I'm able to find a spot. However, occasionally, it's full and I have to park on one of the surrounding streets, which isn't free. HOWEVER, you can get a parking permit through the City of Bloomington, and it's only like $30 for the year. Other than that, I can't think of any negatives to this apartment. Most of the tenants are college students, and there have never been any noise issues.

Good Value and Super Close to the Law School

The apartment complex is a good value overall and is only a 3 minute walk from the law school. The kitchen is a little small, however, it's super close to downtown and is cozy inside. I would recommend.

Great Apartment for Law Students!

I don't think I could have found a better apartment as a law student. For a two bedroom apartment, the price is reasonable. It is within 2 blocks of the law school and only takes ~4 minutes to walk there. Even when it snows, the walk still isn't too bad. While we can sometimes hear the people in the apartment below us when they talk, it isn't too bad. Our neighbors are quiet and respectful, and we have never had any issues with noise. While there isn't on-site parking included in the rent price, you can get a parking permit with the City of Bloomington for $20 (annual cost) and park on the street. There have only been a handful of times where I haven't been able to find a parking spot near the apartment building, and I had to park a couple blocks away. In terms of electric costs, the price fluctuates. From August 2020 to February 2021, our bills were between $29 and $141. The higher bills have been during the winter months, and it sounds like, based on what I have heard from other law students living in other apartments, this is common for the area. We haven't had any issues with the apartment, other than our garbage disposal stopped working. However, we submitted a maintenance request and they came and replaced it within a few days. The internet is included in the rent price, and everyone in the building shares the Wi-Fi. For the most part, this isn't an issue. However, sometimes I have connection issues when I'm on a Zoom call. One final thing - the apartment doesn't come with a microwave. This really wasn't an issue, as I found one on Facebook Marketplace for $20. Overall, I would 100% recommend the apartment to any future law students.
