Don't Be Fooled by Tempo or Granite Properties

This house looks relatively cute when you enter it with it's large-ish kitchen and really nice original hardwood floors. The driveway and huge backyard are certainly a plus. BUT - do not rent this property. The house is built from unsealed cinderblock which means you absolutely must run a huge, loud dehumidifier 24/7/365 to keep the walls from literally growing mold. The kitchen has zero insulation so it's sweltering in the summer and freezing in the winter.

The water pressure in the bathroom is terrible, the walls are extremely thin, and the second "bedroom" is just a small office. Also, although this neighborhood is supposed to be one of the quieter ones, there are usually undergrads across the street who party like there's no tomorrow every weekend.

The property management company started pressuring me to renew my lease just 3 weeks after I moved in (early September) and basically told me that if I didn't renew ASAP, they'd rent it out from under me. They also show the property constantly starting from September which is extremely irritating.

Their maintenance crew is not 24/7 in case of emergencies, and their supposed experts are just hillbilly handymen.

Lastly, the management team at Granite are extremely rude and difficult to work with. They do the absolute minimum and do not make any concessions for their tenants. Zero stars for customer service.
