Lincoln Park Living
I love living in Lincoln Park. It is an easy commute (20 mins) via Red Line to Feinberg SOM while giving me a large apartment and cozy neighborhood living.
The ability to leave Streeterville at the end of a long day at the hospital is a welcome reprieve. I can either bike or take the train home or even drive my car (and there is plenty!! of parking on my street) and I can get a bit of emotional distance away from the hospital/school.
The value for money is unreal. My apartment is huge with 2 bedrooms, a large living room, a dining room, and a whole back porch. I pay a fraction of what my classmates pay in Streeterville.
The main downside as compared to the typical Feinberg student Streeterville apartment is that there are no amenities: no doorman, no pool, no gym. For me, the space/sunlight/distance/closeness to great Lincoln Park restaurants were a worthy tradeoff.
