Great apartment on outskirts of IMD
Not the safest area but off street parking included in rent at no additional cost. On the fourth floor I feel pretty safe and have not had any issues other than a stolen, unlocked bike when my garage door was left open. Area gets a little sketchy if you head a half mile North or South or West but overall I feel safety is better here than other apartments I have lived in Chicago. Apartment is fairly large for the price with a master bedroom with attached bath (his and her sinks, jacuzzi tub) and large walk in closet, plus a second smaller bedroom with medium sized closet. Hardwood floors throughout, large back balcony with sliding glass doors. Front features french balcony and sliding glass doors. Lots of natural daylight. Gets a little cold in the winter months in the master bedroom which we think is related to poor insulation of the sliding glass doors but is manageable with additional layers of clothing or blanket, and makes up for it in the less cold months. Large pantry, tons of kitchen cupboard and counter space, separate laundry room with washer and dryer included. Working gas fireplace in the large living room. Pet friendly, located steps from several restaurants. Located on the outskirts of the medical district and walking distance to UIC, Stroger, and RUMC hospitals which is a great fit for medical students, residents, or other hospital staff. Right in front of bus stop and half mile from the Blue line. Private landlord manages this condo, VERY responsive. Property management company has had some issues with reorganization and has been improving in recent weeks. Some downsides include heavy traffic from busy main street as well as heating issue in master bedroom (only in the winter).
