A great place for a law student!

Wessinger Properties is a great property management company. They're a smaller, family-owned business and have been in Ann Arbor for over 30 years. It was important to me, when searching for an apartment, to avoid the "slumlords of Ann Arbor" type of landlord. My landlords are very responsive and nice, and I highly recommend renting through them.

My apartment is close to the law school (5-7 minute walk, depending on how fast) so the location could not be any better. It's halfway between downtown and campus, which is perfect. The apartment itself is really nice; it has hardwood floors, high ceilings, and a large window in the living room. It's around 650 square feet and feels like the perfect size for a one-bedroom. The closet is amazingly spacious. The building is really secure--there's a keycode entrance to the building--and I feel very safe here. The walls are very thick and I rarely hear my neighbors. I feel that the rent (which was $960 for one person and $1,035 when I added my partner to the lease) is a great deal for how nice the place is and how close it is to campus.

The only reason I'm not rating it a 10 is because there have been ~5 occasions when it rains that centipedes have crawled out of the basement and into our apartment. So that's not ideal. Also, the set-up is a little odd in that there's no door between the bedroom and the kitchen, so it might not be great for a couple who have very different morning schedules.

There is one parking spot guaranteed ($400 for the school year and $100 for the summer). There is coin-operated laundry in the basement, along with storage for residents. It is not pet-friendly.
