Negatives: This house has 4 bedrooms, each with their own bathrooms, spread across 3 floors. This is good because there are people to talk to and hang out with; it's bad because there have been significant personality conflicts for the entirety of my three years here and the house has thin walls/floors/ceilings, so you can hear anyone walking in the house or talking if above a low-normal volume. Each room is rented separately, so there is no vetting compatibility with new housemates. Coordinating regarding chores/upkeep and guests has been a nightmare--especially with the latter during coronavirus. If you move here in 2021, you will have housemates who are happy to go to large gatherings (50+) unmasked, which I was NOT OK with. Pre-coronavirus, you couldn't fit groups beyond 5-10ish people because the layout of the house lacks a space for larger groups to gather together.
The management used to be nice, but a new management company has come in, which seems really corporate and awful. They have been responsive regarding repairs; no complaint there. But the lease that the management company makes you sign is extremely one-sided; they can find a hundred ways to take your deposit and ding you with fees.
Also, we have had some Wifi trouble with signal covering the house and overloads/outages with Xfinity. Power outages happened one each year due to a storm knocking down a power line for a day or so.

Positives: The above downsides are a shame because the place is otherwise really nice. The rooms are spacious and well lit. The house has a washer and dryer; a nice, modestly-sized kitchen; one outdoor parking space; and two one-car garages. The location is generally quiet and peaceful. There is great, walking-distance access to nature. There is a fire pit out back, with tree stump seats. There are hiking and mountain biking trails nearby on the way to the Huron River. You can go tubing on the river in the summer. The house could have a nice community if friends all moved in together, but each room is rented separately and likely only one room will open up in any given year. The North Campus gym is within walking distance (15 minutes). Kroger (grocery store) is a 12-minute bike ride. The area is quite safe. A housemate left a bike outside, unlocked for months at a time, and it was never stolen.

Transit: The 23 and 65 buses stop just a 2-minute walk from the house and take you into downtown and central campus. To Central Campus, it's roughly a ten-minute drive, a 15-minute bus, a fifteen-minute bike ride, or a thirty-five-minute walk. North Campus is a < 5-minute drive, 7-minute bike ride, or 15-20 minute walk.
