A place to sleep
Relatively cheap place far from Ross (by choice). Quiet neighborhood and beautiful landscape. Old buildings with regular maintenance issues. Super quick response to fix issues.

Cheap & Convenient for Families
Quiet, safe for kids to run around, bus very convenient, parking inexpensive. Apartment is small, kitchen tiny, but washer and dryer in-unit and everything is well-maintained.

Great for families on a budget
Can't go wrong for a family that needs space on a low budget. Places are a little older and its further away from school than I would like, but for the price it is just fine. The people are friendly, the maintenance is prompt, and if I was coming back for a third year I would live here again.

Relatively cheap and secluded but with noticeable issues
This university housing is about 10-minute drive from Ross (about 30-minute bus ride). The apartment came with basic furniture. It is an okay place, but maintenance is an ongoing issue. Management is responsive, but the place is old, and things keep braking.

Northwood V
I've really enjoyed living here - it's great for folks with kids in particular. There's a school bus that picks kids in elementary and middle school up right in the complex, and tons of kids play outside together every day after school. The commute really isn't bad, it's 20 minutes on the bus and a 10 minute walk to the law school. Having the University as a landlord is fantastic, they come and fix issues really quickly (for example, our washing machine broke, and they replaced it later that day).

Perfectly fine
The townhouses themselves are unimpressive and largely built to be sturdy and last a long time. The best part of living in Northwood is the family community. There are so many other families with young children for our kids to play with. Additionally, the University's housing support is incredible. They come and fix things so quickly. Lastly, the Magic Bus runs right through our loop, which makes commuting to the law school convenient.

Northwood V is great for med students
It's a very roomy apartment with three levels. My husband and I have plenty of space; we even hosted three family members over winter break. Master bedroom is larger. We use the second as an office. The kitchen is on the small side but has a lovely gas stove. It has a full basement with our own washer and dryer and updated furnace. Ours is a den and art room, plus plenty of under-the-stairs storage space. Only con is no pets (technically, but lots of people seem to chance it). It's right on the Northwood bus line, which comes every 10 minutes and takes about 12-15 minutes to drop you off at THSL. The bus starts running around 6:30am, so I'll need to use my car for M3 Surgery and Peds. University Housing is responsive and helpful. Great neighborhood for kids or, if you're like us, enjoying other peoples kids. Parks, playgrounds, soccer field, barbeque pits, picnic tables. Also great Community Center with free events, social gatherings, dance classes, rental cleaning and recreation supplies.

Great price for space
Great price for space. In Family housing on campus, lots of kids and events. Property is fairly old but management comes to do repairs within the day. Free AC/heat, internet, cable TV.

Northwood V Apartments
Great place for someone who needs a lot of storage space as the apartments come with a large-sized basement. The only downside is that the location is not very close to the Ross School of Business. However very good transit options are available and the complex is right on a University Bus Route. A bus comes every 10 to 15 mins and it takes me about 20 minutes including the walking time to get to Ross.
