Great Mt Vernon Apartment
I like this apartment a lot. It's a studio with a big window with curtains, pretty new appliances, wood floor, fire escape on the second floor, and it also a enclosed courtyard. Great for cats. Almost everybody in this building has cats. You can let them out into the courtyard if they like going outside. No dogs allowed. Pretty good storage space - one closet and a really high up shelf where I put all the empty boxes for my appliances. There's a fake fireplace that I used to use for storage but now it's a little nook for my cats (the jury's still out on whether they like it). Also, the apt has a glass door (so the neighbor in the next apt has access to the fire escape) which has to be covered if you like it to be dark when you're sleeping. One thing is that my apt gets almost no sun at all because there are tall buildings surrounding it on the east and west. I could see the fireworks they put on in Dec. Not exactly sure what they're for but I could see them right from my window! Outside is a little shabby but inside is nice. Right off Charles St at Franklin St. Walking distance to 7/11s, Streets Market, restaurants, etc. Landlords are currently renovating space on the first floor but not sure what it's going to be. Landlords are cool. All in all, pretty great apt for $800 (no monthly pet rent just deposit). I feel lucky to have found it.
