Richelieu Court Apartments

This building very rarely gets any general servicing so it is old and it shows. I can’t even use one of the entrances to the building because that lock takes basically an expert lock pick to open with the key. We have had two different mice in our pantry. BUT the space itself is large and pretty comfortable and the location is amazing, and I pay less than $400 for my room plus utilities. Also, it just changed management so maybe the new company will address the existing issues.

We have a pretty spacious 2BR/bathroom apartment for only $750 a month. The living room are enough to host a small gathering of 20 people. I lived there for my entire 4 years without any significant problems. I've enjoyed the "homely" feeling of the apartment and the convenience to the hospital and school. It's walking distance from the hospital so you don't have to waste time with finding parking. It's also located in a safe and quiet area - the complex was built for elderly people so a lot of the residents are in that age group. I've left my bike outside of my apartment door for 3 years without it getting it stolen. If you have any plumbing or electricity problems, they are pretty good at fixing it and covering it. However, the management did change since my first year and I think it's not as organized as before. Sometimes, I have to make a few calls or go in person to address some housing issues. It is driving distance to downtown (less than 10 minutes) but there's only Fork in the Alley restaurant in walking distance.

Our building is older aesthetically, but is in a perfect location close to the hospital and some bars and restaurants in a safe walkable neighborhood. We have plenty of space, pay very very low rent for a 2-bedroom, and our maintenance guy is so helpful and available.
