A Home for 4 Years
I've lived in this building all 4 years of medical school. For my first two I lived on the 2nd floor and then moved to the 3rd (top) floor for better natural lighting thanks to some key sky lights. The apartment has an open floor plan for living room, dinning space, and kitchen (with a stove replaced in 2020, the fridge is a little old though), and then there are three bedrooms off this main living space. Two of the bedrooms share a bathroom, while the third has a private bathroom. Unfortunately noise does carry from the common space into the bedrooms pretty clearly, but that has not been a huge problem for us as we are on similar sleep schedules. There is also a back deck off the back bedroom with stairs down to the back ally and our parking spot behind the house (I will say the ally isn't the cleanest place, but you can't beat that amazing free parking!)
I also have to say that my landlord is the kindest landlord I have ever worked with and a huge perk of the living situation. He's very responsive and easygoing, and is open to pets in the apartment! (We used to have a dog). He's definitely spoiled us and is a huge part of why we never moved.
