Great apartment at good price point
Pro:
-Convenient, close to campus, grocery, and restuarants
-Spacious floorplan at good price point compare to other apartments in the area
-Fairly safe. Building has good security system, receptionist, no weird people on our block.
-Amazing temperature control within my apartment (I don't even need AC during the hottest days in the summer)
-Fair utility and service fee charges
-Good amenities (not the best in the area, but for the price and location, I can't complain)
-Hardwood floor, allergy friendly
Cons:
-Biggest: No ceiling light for the living room area, which I hate a lot. Also the ceiling was concrete, which made it even harder to light up the living room area.
-Second biggest: Our apartment don't have good sunlight
-Expensive parking
-Trash room always have some issue, but not super annoying though

It Does the Job
While I appreciate the proximity of my apartment complex to the University/Law School, the location itself is not ideal due to the constant ongoing construction outside. As of right now, there are two major construction projects for apartment buildings within feet of my own building. Additionally, there is ongoing roadwork on the major street my apartment is located adjacent to.
As it pertains to the complex itself, my apartment is fine and I have no real issues with it other than wishing the pantry was a little bigger. However, the building itself is incredibly unsafe. The parking structure is shared with Whole Foods which allows people who are not residents to access the residential portion of the garage. I alone have had my car broken into three times within the 18 months I have lived here, and at no point was management willing to reimburse me for the cost of repairing my car or for the cost of parking as a result. I have also had numerous instances of people who are not residents being inside of the building causing problems (breaking into storage spaces, trying to access apartments, hiding out in the stairwell, etc.) which is very disconcerting.
On a more day-to-day note, residents are required to compost, yet the compost bags are always out of stock in the trash room. Similarly, the trash chute is always out of order leading residents to stack bags upon bags of garbage and recycling on top of each other. The building itself is also unnecessarily cold (the hallways have air conditioning running at around 60 degrees regardless of what season it is) and because all residential doors have an inch-thick gap underneath them, all of that cold air gets pumped into individual units and counteracts whatever heating you are attempting to run to maintain a decent temperature.
Anytime that any of these issues have been brought to management's attention (either by myself or another resident), we get the stereotypical, unhelpful corporate response of "thank you for your feedback, we will look into that" or "we are working on that" but nothing ever changes. Instead, the money goes into further beautifying the building in order to make it seem appealing to prospective renters who are unable to learn about all of the problems within the building from a single, quick visit. It is an incredibly frustrating place and I am very much looking forward to moving once I have completed school.
