The Everly
Overall experience is great. The property management is very responsive to issues both inside your apartment and the immediate area outside of the apartment. I do think $1300ish is a little high for one bed and one bath; however, it's really close to the West Town Mall, restaurants, and other shopping centers so that kind of makes up for it. Students would probably save on rent if they had a roommate for a 2 bed and 2 bath because the rent is only $200ish more than one bed and one bath. The same thing could be said for a 3 bed and 2 bath. In the one-bed apartments, there are no washer & dryer hookups, so residents take their laundry to the laundry room provided by the Everly near the main office. The Everly has gym access and a pool, which is great. The neighbors and people I met and interacted with are very nice and pleasant, I've never had a bad interaction with any of the people. The drive to and from school can range from 15-30 minutes (depending on weather and time of day). I know of at least one other LMU DSOL student who lives in the Everly complex. The complex always feels safe.
As far as cons to living in the Everly, my upstairs neighbor is pretty noisy, but I think that's common with most apartment complexes. It is near a somewhat busy street, so sometimes it can get noisy from that. Other residents, I swear, were raised by animals because some of them (for whatever reason) cannot throw the garbage in the main dumpster properly or put things in there (like couches or other large furniture) that shouldn't go in the main dumpster.
I've never had any problems with pests in my apartment. In fact, the property management does spray around the property with a pet-friendly pest repellant. However, I have seen the occasional raccoon hanging around the dumpster late at night. The parking is a little funky sometimes; there's always a place to park in the complex, but sometimes it's not directly in front of your building.
