Love my apartment & love living in Santa Monica!
I love the Ocean Park area of Santa Monica and find it to be really nice to be able to come home from campus and be in a residential, quiet, and close to the beach environment. I like how it doesn't feel like a city and it's safe. There's always parking on our street and we live by multiple parks and great restaurants. I really like not renting from a property management company because I've done that in the past and had a bad experience with not being able to speak to a real person about issues, whereas currently, our landlord is our neighbor and is very responsive. I do wish that my room was larger, and that we had more light because we live in a back unit that doesn't get much natural light. The other downside is that all of our neighbors are families with small children so they take noise complaints very seriously and cannot handle any noise coming from our apartment even at a reasonable hour on a weekend.
