Avoid Rent Athens Properties

Williamsburg unit 12 is an older, dated unit and it’s somewhat well-maintained. We had poor communication especially in this last year with Rent Athens. It took 6 months for maintenance to locate a leak that was obviously seeping into the pantry. They charged for false reports and would only give credit once the leak was found. The COA that manages the property decided to more rigorously enforce the rules. They entered our apartment without telling us (which they usually do) and attempted to charge us $500 for violations they’ve always managed themselves the past 2 years. They intimated self-help without offering us the opportunity to fix the issue (which we were in the process of fixing) and charged us nearly $300. But the job was done incorrectly and they attempted to fine us again for the same problem.

Comfortable

I’ve lived here approximately 2 months and the experience has been pretty decent. The unit is older, built in the 60s, but it has been well taken care of. The complex’s exterior is maintained and some of the interior is maintained by the agency. It’s a quiet street and situated not too far from some good restaurants.

Williamsburg townhouse

The townhouse is a good size and provides the space necessary to live as a grad student. It's a bit on the older side but is generally charming.
