Hidden Gem in Durham for under $1000/month
I really like living in Forest Pointe Apartments. It's about a 3-5 minute drive from 9th Street and the rent is only $920/month + utilities ($40). My apartment is clean and the maintenance team is great. The front office is very responsive. My apartment was newly painted before I moved in and new carpet was installed. Although the appliances and fixtures could be updated, it's hard to complain with the price. I have a really nice porch that is great for workouts. I also have a storage closet adjacent to the porch which helps with storage. There is a gym in the complex, but I haven't been with COVID. The apartment is a 1-2 minute drive from Planet Fitness if. you wanted more fitness options. This apartment feels way more like 'home' than the newer ones on 9th Street (I used to live at 810). It's important to note that while neighborhood is secluded, I do live off the highway so there is a good amount of white noise. Wifi is included in the rent. It is fine for virtual classes, but if you are doing a lot of streaming or gaming, then you may need to supplement.

Affordable apartment
Forest Pointe is an affordable apartment, not more and definitely not less. The neighborhood is quiet, close to Costco (about 7 min walk ) and 15 minute away from Fuqua. There are buses stop nearby but take about 1hr to get to Fuqua and get sketchy at night.

Nothing fancy, but nice and affordable
Unit is newly renovated with new appliances; nice big washer and dryer; maintenance has been good; We don't have a particularly large unit and the complex isn't fancy - no pool for example, but we were looking for a nice 2 bedroom apartment that would be affordable and this has been a great fit.
