We Survived Kerpec
We lucked out and managed to live here 4 years at an affordable price. They are increasing the rent by +$200 next year. The landlords receptive to fixing things when there is a true emergency but otherwise not helpful. They drop in at random times to make sure the house is heated to 68 and fine you if it isn't- stuff like that gets tiring. Per yelp their 1.5 star rating is mostly from the move-out process, and that's when all the lawsuits seem to happen. We also couldn't cosign the lease if a lawyer parent was a co-signer. So yeah there are some red flags but was an awesome location and very affordable for this part of Shadyside!

Great location and nice layout makes up for bad management.
Great location, close to bus lines, grocery stores, and the hospitals. Easy to get to many great city parks. I do not recommend Kerpec Management however, they are not responsive to maintenance issues and have strict rules (temperature can never fall below 68, no adhesives on the walls, no gatherings etc) that they are quick to fine you for when they unexpectedly visit.
