Best old town place!

This location is great for 3 years people out of college. It is extremely safe and close walking distances to anything you can think of (bars grocery stores shopping, etc) The best thing is that its close to the red line and also has many parking available at an addiontional cost. Best location!

Sandburg Terrace

I love living at this building - the doormen and security make me feel very safe there. The apartment gets a ton of light and feels brand new! The property is well managed and I haven't had any issues so far in terms of noise or cleanliness. Happy to live there!

Great Location but Older Building

This is a great location - at the crosses of Gold Coast, Old Town and Lincoln Park (while technically Gold Coast), and 3 blocks from Lake Michigan. However, because of this condo's age, be wary that plumbing may be an issue once in a while. Also, the condo association can be a pain in the butt to deal with for renters as they require landlord authorization for nearly everything (kind of a pain when your toilet won't shutup). Similarly, this building recently got rid of 24 hour doorman, now sharing a doorman with the Bryant Building (1355 N. Sandburg) on certain weeknights. Kind of complicated when you have a insomnia/drunk food delivery at 2am.

Old Town Reviews

I love Old Town for its amazing restaurant choices. That and it is beautiful to walk through (Old Town Triangle and side streets). It is wonderful being close to the beach and walking distance to downtown. One of the things I am not particularly fond of is the "Brotastic" atmosphere at most of the bars but it goes with the territory.
Old Town is the best neighborhood in Chicago! We are situated perfectly within all the best Chicago has to offer, everything is super close and walkable, and there is so much to do! It is a historical area where you can learn more about the city's history before the Great Chicago Fire of 1871, and also grab drinks and dinner at fun restaurants!
The neighborhood could be more secure to be honest. There have been a few times where I would not want to walk alone at night--and I'm a guy that can fend for himself. I recommend having a car or an escort instead of walking alone at night. But overall its really not bad.
There are plenty of grocery stores in the neighborhood with feasible prices for the city which is nice. Additionally, there are plenty of fast food as well as restaurants in this area and a great bar scene as well. There's always something to do.
Everything you could ever want is in walking distance; such a fun area! Parking garages nearby for car storage. Lots of restaurants and bars. Right by the zoo, the beach, the city...it's just the perfect location.
Tons of bars and restaurants, and great for anyone in their 20s to 30s. Easy to walk to hair salons, nails salons, Walgreens, and the grocery store. Also, plenty of work out classes and gym close by.
Neighborhood is great, you can't beat being right on Wells in the middle of all the action. There are several great restaurants and bars to enjoy within a short walking distance.
Old town is the perfect location for me. Easy commute to the loop with the train being a five minute walk to my apartment. Great restaurants and night life too!
