Solid Spot

It's alright. A lot of elderly people and older adults. The doormen really get to know you and will know your face, your apartment number, your name soon; and will rush to find your packages when you walk through the door. Great staff overall. The management can be overbearing at times though.

Wouldn't Rent Again

Place was kind of sketchy. Never knew who was in and out of my apartment during the day. Lots of power outages and electrical problems. Loved the doormen. Wouldn't rent at this place again. They charge a ridiculous amount of fees for a building that is falling apart

Great experience

Love living here! Never had any major issues. Close to everything - though the business of such a tourist neighborhood gets old. Pool is great. Smaller apartment but for the rent, cannot complain. Anytime we needed something the doormen were always available and the management as well. Nice neighbors, too!

Magnificent Mile Reviews

Pros: very safe, great transportation options in the Red line and all the busses you can think of, close to all of the entertainment and social life options of River North without the price

Cons: 35-50 minute commute via the 2 to Hyde Park (but it's a great bus! Mostly U of C commuters and very reliable.)
The building is located just off of Mag Mile, so there's a lot of people around and great restaraunts and shopping! It's perfect that it's not directly on Mag Mile, however, because you have less congestion and noise around you.
Streeterville is River North's cheaper, more serious little brother. Mostly students, people who work in the loop, hospital staff, and tourists.
Since the apartment is right on N Michigan, the area can be a bit touristy, however, it's easy to avoid walking on Michigan ave by going out the side or basement door of the building, depending on where you're heading. I do feel very safe living here. Michigan ave is always very well lit at night. The commute to school is less than 10 minutes. The Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Jewel Osco are all about a 5 minute walk away, and the Target is 10 minutes away.
It feels safe and easy to get around, but a large part of it is the hospital so there is a bit less to do than other neighborhoods. That being said, it is so close to River North, Gold Coast etc., that it's not hard to find great restaurants and bars.
The neighborhood is very bougie, but that's the area around magnificent mile, streeterville, and gold coast (this is the edge of all three)
Very close to the hospital, just 2 blocks away. It's on the north side of campus so more quiet, a bit farther from where other people tend to live though.
Very close to campus
