Fairview Manor

Apartment is okay, but very dusty. Management is reactive.
However, we can smell everything other residents cook. Also, you cannot control the heat, which is excessively warm.

This place is on the cheap side for apartments for sure, but the location is incredible (I can nearly see Upson from my windows). The place is perfectly fine, though laundry can be annoying since it's on the bottom floor and you have to pay. The space is pretty small, especially the kitchen, but for someone on a graduate student budget, you'd be hard pressed to find a better value unless you're moving into a house with multiple people.

It's very close to Sage Hall and Breazzano, which is what I was looking for. The management team is friendly and maintenance has been responsive to all issues in a timely manner. I have no complaints.

The leasing office is always very helpful and facilities management is very quick to fix any issues. The walk is comparively flat to campus. However, they turn off heating during the night, they never clean common areas (there’s always spiders and spider webs and trash), mail is delivered to the leasing office instead of to your door or mailbox (for safety concerns but still inconvenient) and the only way to reload you laundry card is to go to the leasing office during their open hours a block and a half away. Lots of pros and cons to this place, just like any other. Overall my exerpience here was great but I won’t be living here again next year.

Fairview manor is less than a 10 min (mostly level) walk to the law school. My apartment is spacious with plenty of closets. Management is very nice and responsive. Walls are made of stone/concrete, heat temperature is controlled by management but there are knobs on the heaters to adjust it slightly. There is a tenant controlled window unit for air conditioning. Card operated washer/dryer in building.
