Avalon Apartments

This is a spacious one bedroom (670 sqft) in a slightly older apartment building. Not everything is very updated (e.g. pink tiled kitchens) but the maintenance people are very quick to resolve any issues (e.g. sink back ups, etc).

Management is good but no background check is required which cause problems. Old buildings, hearing water, talking and music noise of other flats. The laundry is one for 13 flats.

I had to secure my housing before coming in to this country. I could not see all the options over the internet. But I did find this one depending on google maps and their website. I liked the location and the price. So I moved in. Since then I am living here. The management is very responsive and the maintenance is also taken care of very fast.

It is a good apartment for the price.

I really like living at Avalon. My apartment was in great condition when I moved in, with no complaints there. Rent is very reasonable, especially with water and gas included. It is easy to use the laundry facilities on the ground floor, and haven't run into too much traffic there. My one complaint would be with the maintenance. Avalon says they use an online appointment-style system to schedule maintenance visits. While the person who comes out to fix things is very kind and helpful, the complex does not actually use the appointment system. So you end up not knowing when they are going to come. While this is actually quite typical in my renting experience, it frustrates me that they say they have a very convenient system, only to not utilize it. But otherwise, I would absolutely recommend living at Avalon!
