You should live here!

Absolutely love living here. The location is fantastic; near downtown & the Old West Side, right behind Bill’s Beer Garden, roughly a 20 minute walk to the law school. The apartments are updated with new appliances, the leasing office is friendly, the communal spaces are nicely maintained, and maintenance is quick to respond if something comes up. It’s a little more than I originally thought I would pay for rent in Ann Arbor, but it’s totally worth it to me. I’m only giving it a 9 and not a 10 because the parking is quite expensive at $250/month separate from rent. The garage is located in the building but is operated by the city, so the property management company can’t guarantee there will be a space available when you move in. There were no available spaces at the start of my lease, so I had to park somewhere else for about a month until a space opened up. Not a huge deal but something I wish I had been aware of beforehand.

AVOID THIS APARTMENT!!

First - the apartment building itself is beautiful. One of the nicest in Ann Arbor.

The management of this complex is a TRAIN WRECK. My son and daughter lived in this complex for 1 year. While signing the lease for the apartment, the leasing agent would take, go MIA, then come back and want docs immediately. The entire process was delayed by her failure to get back to us on multiple occasions. She even raised the rate during the process - but we just wanted to get the unit, and finally did. At the end of the process, got a "how did we do" email - I was honest and detailed all the struggles. We were contacted and offered a refund on fees, probably so we wouldn't post anything negative.

Fast forward 1 year - my kids leave the apartment July 24, in perfect condition. It is now October 10 - and STILL no refund of security deposit. Repeated requests went ignored and unanswered. My daughter said she was going to involve legal services - yesterday was told the check would be cut today. She went to pick up the check today, and was now told it is cut in another location. I've had college kids in apartments in NYC, Chicago, Boston, Atlanta, DC - and NOTHING has been the train wreck this group has been.

Yes, the building is beautiful - but good luck every getting help, or getting your security deposit back. Buyer beware. I would look elsewhere. Hopefully U Mich puts them on a do not rent list because they continue to fail to follow guidelines for rentals.

Not perfect but good

Pros:
Calm residents (maybe fewer students)
Clean
Close to the Blake Transit Center

Cons:
Too expensive parking rate
S 1st St is noisy because of a club, while the other roads are not so much.

Nice new apartments, perfect downtown location

I absolutely love my Ann Arbor City Club apartment. The management has been nothing short of helpful, with building maintenance always on site willing to help. The apartments feel brand new, with updated appliances and gorgeous bathrooms. In unit laundry and dish washer included. There is an awesome outdoor rooftop and indoor rooftop hang out space, as well as a gym and outdoor patio. Parking garage under building for additional charge is very convenient. Located right downtown among the awesome Ann Arbor restaurants shops and bars
