Old and not well-maintained. Bills for electricity and water are outrageous. Neither WiFi nor gym.

ROACHES and Black mold, terrible management
My maintenance requests were almost never answered and the apartment was infested with roaches and had bad black mold problems in the bathrooms. The management company was unresponsive and unhelpful. They boast a pool but it is not maintained.

Avoid at all costs
I am a former resident of Autumn and August Place. My family and I lived here for 3.5 years and my recommendation would be to literally live anywhere else. The prices were cheap, which is why we lived there for 3.5 years, as I do not make a lot of money as a grad student. However, the situation became unhealthy and unsafe, which required us to immediately move. In June 2021, we had a bat inside one of our closets and were not sure how it got in. We tried contacting management, but they do not have a 24 hour emergency number. Supposedly, they have a text message service that goes straight to the manager, but that is really hit or miss if they reply. Upon going to the office the next day, their response was "We weren't sure if it was a bat or a bird, so we did not think it was a big deal." Two days later, a live bat was on our kitchen floor. Again, no response from management, and we had to trap and remove the bat ourselves. Supposedly, management said they were trying to contact pest control, but they never resolved this issue. I worked with an attorney from Legal Services for Students to try and move this process forward. After another live bat got in and was flying around my living room, which frightened my daughter immensely, Legal Services recommended contacting City Code Enforcement, who completed an inspection and deemed the unit unfit for habitation. They sent a notice of violation to the property manager, who responded by trying to illegally evict us. There were months of back and forth between the attorney, the city, and the property manager. It took them 4 months to even offer us an alternative unit to live in, which was also unsafe and uninhabitable. The new unit they offered us had no smoke alarms, the sliding glass door did not lock, and it was infested with cockroaches. Their response was "take it or leave it." They tried double billing my rent for the bat infested unit and the cockroach infested unit, which I never accepted after inspection. Working with the attorney, I made an agreement to break my lease and move out. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Management takes weeks or months to even address maintenance issues. The buildings are infested with bats, squirrels, and cockroaches, but they do nothing to alleviate the pest problems. Management will also try to illegally evict you if you exercise your rights as a tenant and contact the city or other agencies. Do not live here. Avoid at all costs. They also tried to begin charging residents for water midway through the lease, but do not provide individualized water bills. They simply divide the water bill for the building by the number of occupied units, so you could be liable for someone else's reckless water usage.
