Aspen
It’s been ok. It can be managed better though, but it does the job.

Good location
The building is quiet, has a great view and the rooms are spacious. I like that every room has its own bathroom. I also value the safety here. The only downside to living here is the distance to campus which the shuttle compensates for.

Great rooms
The rooms here are spacious and really comfortable. I only wish it was closer to campus but the shuttle makes up for that.

Good for the price
The price is worth it for the shuttle to campus in the winter and nothing extra for utilities. This includes a $20/month allowance for electricity, so if you're okay with having your apartment a little cooler in the winter (69*) and warmer in the summer (74*), you won't go over your allowance to pay your heating bill. Having your own bathroom is also a plus.
That being said, Management doesn't take roommate matching into account at all, and the apartment building isn't the most secure. However, if you keep your wits about you and don't leave any visible property in your car, you'll be fine. Building 1 is also near a busy street, so it can be a little loud when trucks go up and down the road.
Wait to sign a lease until they promote a good signing bonus, like a month of free rent, a gift card, and/or free covered parking for the year. Those are usually posted on their Instagram.

There are better places for this type of money. I wouldn't rent here again.
Bad, the management, the people who live in the complex and don't clean up after themselves. Not to mention it is not secure at all. Very unsafe area!

It used to be good
Aspen was the cheapest of the "student apartment complexes." I liked it because it was fully furnished, included everything and had a shuttle to campus that ran from 7 to 10 which made the transition from the south to the north a lot smoother. I really liked living there my 2L because they decreased my rent and gave me covered parking as part of my renewal package. I chose not to renew for 3L because prices jumped and the quality of staff and amenities decreased. I was looking to spend more money 3L because I wanted to move to a 2bd-room and was going to bring a friend in to live with me, but the atmosphere there just wasn't worth it. Living around undergraduate students was annoying. I also did not like the way my roommates and I were treated upon move-out. They automatically assumed things without looking into the facts of each our situations resulting in 2 of us getting outrageous move-out charges that were obviously due to a different roommate who was leaving. There were weeks trying to get in-touch with Aspen that neither of us heard back from. Eventually someone did reach out and the situation was settled, however if they had just asked it would have never been an issue in the first place. The one thing I did like is that in every survey I complained about the lack-lusted plowing of the parking lots, the plowing did improve as I continued to reside there. Lastly if you're living in anything but a 1bd, don't believe the hype about the rooms (especially the closets) being large, they are good sizes but definitely not "big/large."

Bad
horrible place to live. screws you over. they tried to kick out international grad students in the middle of a pandemic for the two week turn period because they were simply moving to another apartment on the 4th floor. I let them sleep on my floor for two weeks and then the landlord retaliated against me for it with charges.

DO NOT LIVE HERE
I have never met such disrespectful, intruding landlords. If you’re going to spend this much on rent, you’re better off at one of the other major student housing complexes (Theory, Marshall, etc).
These people have come into my apartment without notice, have attempted to fine me for things I never did, and do not maintain the units properly. Additionally, half of their staff do not wear masks during a PANDEMIC!
Don’t live here unless it’s your last resort.
