Great Location, Not Great Management
The location is great because it is about a 7 minute walk to school and it is in the middle of downtown so you have access to restaurants and night life. I usually only drive to get groceries. There is a dollar general around a 3 minute walk away for when I just need to grab something quick.
The downside is the management. My apartment was not ready on move-in day. They were still installing my washing machine when I was trying to move in and they still have not done the cosmetic "turnaround" things like fixing the paint. I had to ask them to come fix a hole in the wall from the previous resident..
The management also just seems to do things to make things less convenient for residents. There is an ally that goes through the building where most residents normally park temporarily to unload groceries, but management recently put a gate up to block us from doing that. Not having close access to the building is a huge inconvenience because residents park in a parking garage on the other side of Main Street.
The management also tried to get one over on me. When I renewed, they sent me a lease with similar prices to what I paid in the previous lease, but when I went to pay the portal online reflect completely different rates for rent and utilities. I had to fight with them to get them to honor the lease that they signed and sent me.
The apartment also has zero storage.

It Has Its Ups and Downs
I love living here now that I am living here. Moving in was rough because my apartment was not ready on move-in day (laundry machine not installed, ware and tare not cleaned up) and they asked me to move in later but my former lease ended on my Gayoso move in day.
I walk to school everyday which is very convenient. It's a 7-10 minute walk but I've made it in 5 minutes on the days that I've woken up late.
The biggest thing I don't like about living here is that there is no storage. I went from an apartment with 3 storage closets to no storage closets, so my stuff is just kind of out in the open.
They also have a gym but it hasn't been open since before I moved in June (it is currently late September).

Gayoso Review
Management is very nice and very prompt if you call to put in orders. I also like how there is 24/7 security
