Flora Apartments
When I moved in the building had just come under new ownership/management. Apparently it was much better before. Cars get broken into a lot. They had an Amazon hub for packages when I moved in which made it very convenient for deliveries, but now they’re switching to a service called Fetch. It’s very annoying.
The apartment itself is nice, it’s a studio but pretty spacious. The appliances are fairly nice. IT DOES NOT come with a washer and dryer, the website and VeryApt mislead me about that, it was literally the only priority I had for an apartment. I was able to rent a set but that added 50 per month to my bill.
My apartment is overlooking a warehouse in the back so it gets really noisy, I recommend visiting first and making sure you’re apartment isn’t on the back side.
Tons of pets here, I don’t have one but I would say at least 75% of tenants have one, easily.
Maintenance requests are not always handled quickly.
Overall I’m not sure how much my experience differs from the norm, I’d guess not much.

Great, Quiet Neighborhood with Short Commute
FLORA is located in the North Loop neighborhood, just north of Hyde Park. It is a short drive to campus (~10 minutes) and there are several great restaurants just a walk away. The building is fairly new and tends to house a lot of UT grad students. Pets are allowed and parking is under the building. Many of the units have patios and a "sitting pool" and grills are located in the middle of the building.

Beautiful, new apartment not far from campus!
I love my apartment! This is a pretty new complex, built in 2019. The floor plans have tons of natural lighting. There's a gym, really nice social pool area, and music studio. Internet and cable is included. The staff is extremely nice and neighbors are friendly. I have had no problems here. It's also an energy efficient space. Even in the summer I have not paid more than $50 in electricity. Also for all my pet owners out there, no breed restrictions!
