Overall rating 5.3/10, based on 3 renter reviews Write a review
Don't live here
Here's an honest review: No one needs to live here. P1 and M1 are rushing out to get an apartment nearby after they experience this place for a year. And here is why:
1. TRAIN: It must have been very clear on the lease agreement that this place is built next to the railroad. It runs 24/7 and yes you wake up 3 AM 4AM 5AM by the train honks. The train passes almost every hour.
How bad could it be? It chipped away edges of my dishes because of the repeated honk vibrations. Windows are NOT double layered so you get to hear the sound louder than max computer volume. You better get a good noise cancelling headphones. I personally have prescribed to melatonins to get a fair sleep.
2. NO WINDOWS: Yup, there is no window. If you cook ramen, it goes for a week to get that smell out. You can also smell the gas for so long even with all the vents turned on.
3. RENT: they are taking $2,600 per month for a single studio. Nearby apartment offers anywhere from $1,800 to $2,200 including the utility. So keep shopping. Your last choice with poor judgement should be the Currie Hall.
4. MANAGEMENT: I have been emailing them many times for their help. The earliest you get a reply is 8 days. If you lose a key, you might need to find a place to live elsewhere for a week.
5. UTILITY: You pay separate utility bills to LADWP. This is not included in your rent. Yet, hot water comes in and out so frequently.
Summary: This place is very illegal and inhabitable place designed to take advantage of young students who don't have much experience living elsewhere. Do yourself a favor and compare the ratings.
Recommendations: Find a place at Ktown(20mins) of Jtown(10mins) or even apartments nearby. Save money you might put into Currie Hall and rather finance/lease a car.

Highly Recommended
This is an amazing living experience. It is away from the noise of main campus, but still practically in USC property here at the medical campus. There’s also a shuttle that runs consistently throughout the day so I don’t have to drive to UPC. I’m also living among other USC grad students too.
