The George
The George is definitely a pricier option for renters. However, the apartments are nice, and the management is generally helpful. The building is located on a stop for the 5 bus, which takes you directly to campus. However, it is not in walking distance to many restaurants, grocery stores, or other businesses.

Great Spot If You're Okay Being A Bit Off Campus
I love living here -- it's a really nice building and the units are very nice (new looking bathrooms and kitchens, etc). It was built a few years ago so most everything is new. The price you'll pay for the quality is insane compared to what you'd pay for the same quality closer to campus (like, I'd pay double for less space if I rented a similar apartment closer to campus).
Maintenance has been very responsive when we've had issues (only a few), and have had no issues with management as of yet.
The only downside is that it's a bit far from campus--you'll either need to drive or take the bus (stop is a 2 minute walk from the building). But if you're moving in with a significant other and don't necessarily need the full "living on campus" experience, this is a great spot.

The George
The George offers apartments that were built only a few years ago. It is very clean and quiet. Renters are mostly graduate students, and most renters have pets. My main complaint is that it is about a 10 to 15-minute bus ride from campus. However, the bus stop is right outside and the bus comes very frequently in the mornings. Still, living at The George without a car would be a bit of a hassle, especially because it is not within walking distance of a grocery store.

Really like it!
Cheaper than the ones downtown, pet friendly, free coffee, nice gym, nice pool. Management is extremely nice (we have events) and extremely accommodating. There are also work spaces and free maintenance from a live-in maintenance man who is kind. It's in a safe part of town and right on the bus line to the law school. The only things that have been subpar are 1: the walls are thin, and 2: our car got stolen somehow (this was the only time anyone had this happen at our complex, but it did happen), so I'd recommend paying for the parking instead of using the free parking. Otherwise, I really really love it and it's a nice community. FYI, if you plan on checking it out, contact me at 808-634-9776 because I get a referral benefit from the apartment (which you can also get).

Great for the price
Have only lived here for a couple months but thus far has been great.
Really spacious apartment with nice finishes, quiet neighbors, and responsive management (Moe, the maintenance manager, is great).
Sometimes there are trash issues (chute gets clogged and trash just sits in trash rooms) but they generally take care of it as soon as they can.

I hate this place
I’ve lived here for two months and have gotten woken up by fire alarms at exactly 2 am on three occasions already. This is a “new build” but all the fixtures are old and cheaply made - which is just appalling for how much we pay in rent. The hot water lasts for about 15 minutes, and we definitely cannot make use of the two showers at the same time. The walls are paper thin. The manager is weird and intimidates young women. He has made inappropriate comments to my husband and I about being able to access any apartment he wants. Terrible vibes all around. I can’t say one positive thing about this place. I ignored all the bad Google reviews and now I’m paying the price.

The George
We've been very happy here. Management can be frustrating at times but the units are comfortable, large, and the building feels safe. Maintenance is responsive and helpful. It's a bit further away than we'd like, ideally, but there's a bus stop across the street that drops you off near Ross.

Beautiful New Unit with lots of Ammenities
The George is a beautiful apartment complex with brand new units (finished within the last 24 months as of November 2019). The complex includes a pool, fitness center, yoga room, common area (with a kitchen, tv, dining area), as well as a theater. The building is also extremely pet-friendly and the community does many events for residents such as barbecues and happy hours.
The biggest downside is its proximity to campus; it is 1.5 miles to school, or about 15 minutes on the #5 bus which picks you up across the street and drops you off at the corner of Packard/Hill.
