Noise Issues and Non-Responsive Management
TLDR: Management is irresponsive and allows community members to break their leases and community guidelines. Noise is a huge issue in this complex. You can hear everything your neighbors are doing if you live on the ground floor.
When we first moved in, Woodlands told us through their own policies, that we wouldn't have power (because of their hold over policies and Dominion policy to not start energy to a property over the weekend). I protested saying that if this was the case I would be forced to break a provision of the lease through no fault of my own since units had to be kept within 68-80 degrees. They appeared to be unmoved by this. I continued to protest until they agreed to call Dominion and have the power put in their name so that when we moved in, there would be no issues. I paid the bill that we incurred under their account, and later they tried to charge me an $150 administrative fee because the utilities weren't in my name when we moved in. I had to go argue with management over this fee, pointing out that it was not our fault but rather the fault of their policies that the utilities weren't in my name.
Our unit is below two upper units (one above our bedrooms and another over the living area). On one side, we had a family with 4 children under the age of 5 whose parents let them run wild. The noise was horrible. We had several discussions with them and management (who did absolutely nothing despite proof that the family was breaking their lease and community guidelines). They have since moved, no thanks to management. Above our bedrooms, our neighbor has a Great Dane. The dog barks and runs around at all hours.
We will be moving, and I do not recommend any apartment building run by Real Property Management.

Great property but expensive
The management company is great, the property is clean, and there’s always parking. Whenever there’s a maintenance problem, they come right out to fix it, and there’s always little events at the clubhouse. It’s just really expensive even for Charlottesville, and our rent went up 7% over last year.
