Hampton Courts
This apartment complex is great proximity to the school and everything else you may need as a law student. The management and maintenance are very responsive, and they have renovated the gym, outdoor activity areas, and pool. I have not had any issues with crime in the three years I've lived here and I have my time living here.

Hampton Courts
My apartment has been a great choice for law school. I am close to all my daily needs like grocery shopping, pet store, and school. The location has cameras at each entrance, efficient maintenance response, and wonderful leasing office staff. The location is mainly a family community, particularly Fort Jackson families, so I have had almost no issues with noise, loitering, or traffic. The gym, activity court, and pool are newly renovated. The main issue I have had with the apartment is the lack of sufficient trash receptacles and pool maintenance. The pool is very nice, but it has not been open for longer than a two week period since I moved in. The complex is also very large but there is only one trash bin which can get full very quickly, especially on weeks with Monday holidays where the trash company does not come until later. Other than that, I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience, and I plan to stay throughout my last year of school at least.

Hampton Courts Grad Student
My experience at Hampton Courts has been great. At first move-in the apartment was horribly cleaned and maintained; however, the management was incredibly quick to respond and rectify all issues. Maintenance has always been friendly and prompt in their response. I have always found parking and never had any issues with pets or utilities. I also enjoy the complex because the other tenants also seem to be either grad students, army residents, or small families. As a grad student, I enjoyed getting away from the undergraduate living scene.

Good Option for Single & Budget Friendly
This apartment complex is affordable for those looking for a place close the USCSOM campus on a budget and not wishing to have roommates. My apartment is definitely on the older side and could use some updates, but for the price and proximity to campus I am very happy with my choice. There is no covered parking and the apartment complex is mixed with all types of renters including families. Maintenance has been quick and efficient in responding to any needs. I do have an occasional issue with pests (ie. roach) but keeping my apartment clean, tidy, and the use of bait traps has helped mostly eliminate this common apartment-living nuisance.

Hampton Courts
I’ve lived at Hampton Courts all four years of med school. I love the location, it is very close to the school and has a lot of stores and restaurants conveniently close.
I only had one bad experience with the management. Otherwise they kind of just stay out of your business. You aren’t gonna have apartment complex mixers or that kind of thing here. Everyone mostly keeps to themselves.

Don't live on the ground floor
The best thing about this apartment is it's location to the School of Medicine, which is only a four minute drive away. The apartment does have a good amount of space (one large walk in closet, two smaller but still spacious utility closets). Try not to live on the ground floor - it has almost no natural light as a lot of the buildings sit on hills, and cockroaches have been a problem for me so far this year. There is a pool and a small gym with two squash courts. The community is not gated. If you like to study at home this is not the apartment for you, I have found the walls and ceilings to be very thin.

Cheap, but it shows
Super affordable housing, but the community has changed a lot in 4 years. The neighbors have gotten rowdier and there’s a bit of a stray cat issue.

Pricey but good environment & location
I lived in Hampton Courts during all four years of medical school - a first floor one bedroom/one bathroom apartment. It is very close to the main VA campus and has numerous close shopping/eating options. I feel like I pay a lot for my smaller apartment, but I know that others are paying more so I won't complain too much. Most of my neighbors are friendly, although some can be inconsiderate with noise at times. I enjoy using the provided pool, gym, racquetball courts, and tennis courts - all of which are pretty nice though not the finest. They've recently repainted the apartments and added more lighting outside so that's nice. The trash collection system could be improved (sometimes the bins overflow by an unsightly amount). The apartments welcome most pets for a fee; and there always seem to be stray cats running around. Maintenance is usually very timely and helpful, especially since the apartments have come under new management within the last year. I've run into occasional problems with my water heater or kitchen appliances, but maintenance always seems to be able to help with the problem. The staff in the main office is super friendly and willing to talk about any concerns you may have.

Hampton Courts Apartments
Management isn't the greatest but don't try to blindside you with add on fees; it's more like they're just inattentive. The complex itself is in a good location, behind Target and very close to the medical school. I don't walk around a lot at night, but I usually feel safe. There are some families with children that live here, but most of the apartments seem to be singles and the occasional university student. I love the apartment itself - I have a lot of space and great lighting.
