Tapestry Park
I love my apartment! The complex and amenities are really nice and well kept, the office staff are very helpful and quick to respond to maintenance requests, and the location is very central to most things in Birmingham. Another plus is I do not have to get on the interstate to get to campus!

Overall, a great apartment
My leasing experience at Tapestry Park was extremely easy and relatively painless compared to other apartment experiences.
The apartments are newly updated, with granite counters and stainless appliances. They contain full washers and dryers and a large shower. The apartment community is "gated." In order to enter the complex you go through gates, however, the whole complex is not fully gated. I do not have any issues with loud noise. My apartment has a lot of space and is very conducive to professional school.
The location is great. It is just outside of north Mountain Brook. I feel very safe when walking to and from my car at night. I park right outside of my apartment. It is a short drive to campus (10-15 minutes) with no traffic because it is all back roads. Close to Crestline, Mountain Brook Village, and Lakeview, which are popular destinations.
The demographic is young professionals and some families. Overall, a great vibe for professional students. There are 2 pools in the complex, outdoor hangout areas, and plenty of room for pets.
My least favorite things about this apartment complex include the management, gate accessibility, and price of rent. Management uses email to notify residents of things, but it is often at the last minute. In addition, it is great that the gates are running, but management only allows access through the front of the complex, even though there are many apartments located at the back of the complex where there is another set of gates located. It can be frustrating/annoying having to "double" drive depending on the direction you are coming from. Lastly, you do get what you pay for, but the price can be hard on a student loan budget.

Pretty Good
I would say I enjoy living at Tapestry Park. The commute to UAB is really easy because you don’t have to get on 280 or 65. The units themselves and the property are really nice. The only thing keeping me from rating it higher is that management is often slow to get things done and seems pretty disorganized.
