OMS

The rooms are pretty spacious, good layouts, clean if you maintain it properly, the bathroom is divided into two- a toilet+ sink and a bath+ sink. The kitchen comes with an oven, cooking range and refrigerator ( no microwave). Good lighting and ventilation. The walls are really thin though. Can hear footstomps from the apartment above mine. But overall a great place to be at.

Great on a budget

You pay for what you get and if you're on a budget, OMS is the best place to stay. I stay in the second floor in a South facing apartment and thus get plenty of sunlight all year round, in the balcony and my room. The rooms, washroom, and common area are spacious, but kitchen gets a bit cramped. In kitchen, you get a fridge, electric coil stove and an oven. You don't get a washing machine but there are 2 laundries located in building 2 and 4. There isn't much greenery in the immediate vicinity of the apartment complex but you can walk to other graduate housing complexes to enjoy a walk. There is no gym either but you can use one in mesa Nueva. Most of the maintenance issues can be fixed with HDH's help.

Best bang for your buck

Not the most glamorous, but great value. Spacious enough. Could use more storage space and counter space, but everything I need is here. Best part is that it's close to campus and utilities like internet, water, cable are included. I only pay extra for electricity in terms of utilities.

No other option available, either the one offered or none. The unfurnished condo is especially unfriendly to international students. Too much efforts are needed in order not to sleep on the floor for the first night. Absolutely no support or consideration from the housing management office even when students travelled long journey internationally with little kids

One Miramar Street

Convenient location near campus. Great value for the price. It's nice that the shower and toilet are in two separate rooms, each with a sink. It's also nice to be near so many other grad students.
Downsides are that there is not much storage space, and there is a lot of road noise because it is close to the highway. Walls are thin within the apartment, but I've never had problems with noisy neighbors.

A bargain!

This price is a bargain in the UTC/LA Jolla area. I especially like the community of fellow grad students, green spaces, and easy commute to school. The unit I'm in also gets excellent sunlight!

Hotely Vibe, Close to Campus

OMS is a nice spot because it's close to campus and has free parking. It doesn't feel very home-y, but for the price it's great. My biggest complaint is my window face i5, and I can't open my windows or patio door any time of day without hearing the hum of the interstate. There isn't much to do in the neighborhood, but this should be improved by the new metro line.

OMS

OMS is a great complex that is near UCSD transportation shuttles. It is an in-between of single-living, studio apartments, and family-living multiple-bedroom apartments. Rent is great compared to the newer UCSD graduate housing complexes. The neighbors are mostly friendly and there has been a recent boom in pets! There are ample areas of grass and a central Residential Services building. There is a gym just across the street in the other graduate complexes. There are barbecue areas and a parking structure.
