Pretty good overall
General Comments: Fairly safe, close access to highway, decent price for the apartment ($1k for 650 sq ft). It's newly renovated so all the amenities are new. Maintenance staff are very fast and responsive. One block away from walmart and randalls for groceries. You can park in front of your apartment or you can park in the parking garage. There are dog trash bag stations around the property. There is a small lake on the property and grassy areas with benches that you can walk your dog. Overall, pretty quiet community. My favorite part is the door lock, once you set it up you can just input a code to open and close it. And it's a smart apartment so you can control the temperature and lights via an app.
Commute: Its 18 mins to UH without traffic. With traffic it averages 23-30. On a really bad day it can be up to 45min, although not common. These times are roughly the same to downtown as well.
Negative: The traffic sometimes sucks. There's not much to do in the area if you are into nightlife. There were a few car break ins, not common but it has happened. I moved in when renovations were happening to the apartment so there was occasionally construction noise. It's not the "safest"... (to be fair I grew up in the suburbs) like the surrounding area can be slightly sketch, but it's comparable to living downtown in my experience. No serious negatives unless you absolutely value the shortest commute possible to UH.
