Great value for the price!
These condos are older, but some of them have been updated nicely. My rent includes water which is a huge bonus. There are wall A/C units which can make the summers more difficult to maintain a cooler apartment. Parking is unassigned. The neighborhood is super quiet and about a 5 minute drive to the grocery store and campus.

Villager Condos - affordable and livable
As a student sharing a 1-bedroom with a partner, the villager condos apartment has been very convenient. It's not the most modern or fancy, and the laundry is in the complex instead of in-unit, but it's very functional, has a good layout, and is extremely affordable compared to other apartments in the Hillsboro West End area. There is also a bus stop right around the corner that runs straight to Vanderbilt. Since students ride the bus for free, that has been very convenient for me.
Note: Not all Villager Condo apartments are owned by the same management company. I live in a unit that is independently owned. Because of that, each unit might have slightly different remodeling.

Villager Condos
For anyone looking for an economical living situation close to school, this is a great find. Although the condos are older and lack central air/heat, it still gets the job done for a low budget graduate student. My landlord, Ann Peters, has been nothing but helpful and kind while renting from her. What the condo lacks in flash, it makes up for it with quality appliances, a pool, free parking, plenty of space, and it is very quiet.

Villager Condos Review
I have really enjoyed my experience here, but I think that would entirely vary apartment to apartment based on landlord and apartment upkeep. My landlords are incredibly kind and also recently renovated the apartment. There is nothing special to the complex itself but it is definitely safe and has lots of open parking. You would definitely need a car and parking pass as it is probably about a 30-35 minute walk to campus, but it is an easy 5-6 minute drive. The complex is in walking distance of 21st Street which has many nice spots, and it is also in Hillsboro Village where I find a good amount of the class ends up living. Really good spot, but again probably dependent on individual apartment in this complex. One downside is the laundry is shared with complex and costs a few quarters for each load.

Great affordable place to live close to campus
Very close to school, manager is nice. They are condos so they are individually owned. Safe area, lots of great walking paths.

Good short-term apartment
I really like living at villager. The parking is free and it is super convenient to 12 south and hillsboro village (about a 20 minute walk from both). It is also right next to 440, so getting around Nashville is much less time consuming--West Nashville and midtown/downtown are 5-10 minutes away, and East Nashville and Brentwood are never more than 15. The big downside is that the units do not have laundry, but there is a laundry room on-site that is never busy. For the location, the price really can't be beat, especially if you are living with a significant other or roommate. Also, there are no pets allowed on the premises.

My Hillsboro Apartment
What I like most, is the serene environment. The entire complex is quiet, peaceful and easily accessible. The management has been very nice, easily reachable and helpful when needed. There is also a laundry and pool within the complex which is unique.
What I least like about the apartment, is sharing a single bathroom with other resident, not having a gym and bar in the complex .
