SW DC

The building is great value and located in a nice neighborhood (it grows on you)! The gym is not the biggest but it is never crowded. I'm usually the only person in there or there is maybe one other person. The actual apartment is nice too, the appliances are definitely not new or top quality but they work so that's all I really need.

Tradeoffs for city living

This apartment is very affordable, especially for something in the city. The apartments are also much larger than those I saw in Arlington and other parts of DC when I was looking. The apartment is located on blue/orange/silver and is also a ten minute walk away from yellow/green, a safeway, and a cvs. Overall, the area is still developing, so there's not much in the way of social life, but you can be at the Nats stadium in 20 minutes. The location is highly rated on safety by walkscore. Management is pretty unresponsive to repair requests - it took us forever to get our dishwasher fixed, we still are missing shelves in our pantry, and our toilet has been leaking water into the bowl but it hasn't been fixed yet. That said, rent is super cheap and the apartment is pretty roomy. It also offers easy access to other parts of DC, but it's by no means a luxury apartment.

Older apartment near everything

The apartment is close to everything downtown and used to be a great value when Southwest DC was relatively unknown. It's an older building, but is nice and safe! The area is walkable for me to work, Nationals Park, the Mall, and the new Wharf project. It is also near 3 metro stops

So much construction

The location is pretty good, lots of metro access, bike lanes, and an easy walk to the restaurants and bars in Navy Yard. However, the building is under massive construction and management turns off electricity occasionally, water on a very regular basis (like every two weeks), and the front desk staff is very hit and miss.
