Gateway at Cedar Brook

It's not bad here. Only a little ways outside of the Emory bubble. Everybody wants to live close but nobody's going to be socializing that much anyway. Avoid rush hour and you are at school in 15 minutes. My apt is 1134sf, it's quiet, and it's safe. My neighbors are good people. They have had some management shakeups but nothing that would make me want to leave.

This hasn't been terrible or great. These are older apartments that naturally have some wear and tear. They're currently doing renovations which is nice; our unit has gorgeous hardwood-look laminate and the cabinets were freshly painted before we moved in, plus the pool was recently refitted and opened. There are not standard security features that you would expect - the doors all have one deadbolt and that's it. We experienced a break-in due that police said could have been prevented with even one more lock or a safety bar. However, this was a pretty isolated incident and the maintenance crew quickly came and installed a new door with a safety bar on it. They were very courteous. The office staff can be a little hard to get in touch with and requested repairs/pest control are sometimes delayed, BUT the staff is again very courteous and every request we've made has been completed within a week. Every type of people here - every race, every age, every sexuality, every type of living arrangement. That has been really great and everyone is kind but generally keep to themselves. I'm sure there are better apartments around, but for the price this is a pretty good bet.
