Pricey but totally worth it
I love living here! I'm from the suburban midwest and living here is the perfect balance of feeling at home but being close to the city. There is a trail with woods behind the apartment complex and the neighborhood is very safe and full of dogs. The apartment is spacious, well-kept, and has a working fireplace. The buildings are small, with about 9 units each, and are quiet with clean hallways. Pets are allowed and most people have them. There are also storage units and bike storage available at no extra cost.
The only downsides are:
-Do not live here if you cannot or do not like walking long distances. It is about a 15-minute walk to the metro either way (Rosslyn or Courthouse) and a 10-20 minute walk to stores & restaurants depending on where you go. I like walking and love the neighborhood so this is a plus for me but is worth a warning. However, parking is included in rent and it is helpful to have a car here.
- It is expensive. With utilities included, I pay about $1750 per month.
-It is old so it's drafty and some things like windows, closets, and bathroom have wear and tear.

Great Deal!
I've been renting my condo in Palisades Gardens for a year and a half. Good location with lots of outdoor space, nice neighbors, plenty of parking, and great for pets. Only issue is it's somewhat far from a metro (15 min walk to Court House or Rosslyn) but it's around a 35 min walk to McDonough or a 15 min walk to the Rosslyn bus stop. I lived in DC before this and Palisade Gardens is much safer.

Good place for the price
It is cheaper than living in DC but close enough that you can get to anywhere you need to go relatively quickly. There is also free street parking and the neighborhood is quiet and safe.

Convenient and tucked away
Loved living in Palisade Gardens. It's very convenient (walkable to Rosslyn metro, but also car friendly). It has a great residential feeling with lots of green. You don't feel like you're part of the Rosslyn high rise scene, but you get all the benefits of the convenience. Community washer/dryer area, but some condos have in-unit as well. I lived on a top floor unit, which was fantastic (third floor walkup with skylights). Super convenient to the district (GWU, State Department especially). Super safe area. Never felt insecure.

Rosslyn Reviews
However, this has been a business district for ages. There is very little going on around here and many of the restaurants don’t even open on the weekends. But, that’s changing. So stay tuned!
(Also, I like living in Virginia because my vote counts for more here!)
If you have long legs, renting a bike is an option. If you are like me and 5'1'', renting a bike is an option for downhill rides.
There is a lot within walking distance in Rosslyn (think 20 min average from my apt): Barnes and Noble, shopping, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's (also on the Arlington loop shuttle from GU), public libraries, CVS, Target, Safeway, lots of restaurants.
Also close to dense populations of immigrant communities if you like Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean food.
Cons: Neighborhood shuts down after 5pm. Few restaurants in the neighborhood itself (this is getting better though). Concrete canyon effect because of the skyscrapers. Closest grocery store is an expensive Safeway.
