A really wonderful location, needs better amenities
The apartment building is a gorgeous old building and comes with everything that a gorgeous old building comes with - old amenities (i.e. laundry room downstairs, no gym) and for my apartment, which hasn't been renovated, stinky appliances, an old furnace, and no central AC.
That being said, I really love the look of old buildings with their original wood floors, cutout sun rooms, and arched doorways. The staff that's there during the current workweek is amazing and the board makes a concerted effort to address building concerns.
Rock Creek, Kalorama Park, Adams Morgan, Cleveland Park, and Dupont Circle are all right there - a very central location yet quiet, calm, and peaceful.

Fine building, landlord varies
The units in this apartment are condos, so units are rented from individuals rather than the building. That means that your landlord experience can vary greatly.
There aren't many building-wide amenities, but the laundry room is functional and the bike room is useful.
Beware if you are sensitive to smoke--the building is not smoke-free and cigarette and week smoke can be smelled in some hallways.
Generally, we have few issues and appreciate the front desk service.

Great spot
It's a great building built in the 1920's. The building is quiet, and there is a large age range from young/professional adults to retirees. Everybody is friendly, and the front desk accepts packages wh/ is great. The location is good too. Adam's Morgan is a 5-minute walk, and Connecticut is right there as well. The only problem is that there is no parking wh/ means that if you are not home by 6:30pm you will spend a lot of time looking for parking. Also public transportation is a hike. That being said you can walk to anything you like, and the only problem is getting to school. Biking, driving, or walking (about 30min.) are your best options. Also the units are all condos, so you have to rent directly from an owner.

good for the area
The apartment is in a great area. That, however, comes at a cost-- which applies to the majority of residences inside the beltway (and especially in NW). The building is old so there are not many perks other than its location. Newer apartment buildings in our area, come at a much higher cost because of things like a gym, patio, etc. But all-in-all its great. I have lived in the district my entire life. wouldnt have it any other way.
