Great Place, Up And Coming Neighborhood

Great apartment in a really fun neighborhood. The Lower East Side continues to go through changes with several new luxury high rises going up and new commercial projects, but still maintains plenty of character. Great bars and restaurants; some apartments with value out there if you can find them. My fiance and I were lucky to find this place which was one of the first new buildings with amenities on our block (built approx. 15 years ago). 25 minute walk to Stern, a little less if you take the subway from Delancey/Essex F/M.

Fantastic neighborhood. Tons of fun bars and restaurants in the area. The go to social spot in the city.
Plenty of grit and character in the Lower East Side - dive bars and cool graffiti on every corner. But there is also a large investment (and gentrification) in progress in the form of new luxury condo buildings, new shopping centers, etc., many of which will not be completed for a few years. On Clinton Street alone, you can find old school Dominican hair saloons, great new restaurants like Ivan Ramen and Yunnan BBQ, seven or so boutique coffee shops, and a luxury condo project.
Pros: walk to campus, great bars/restaurants/coffee shops
Cons: construction can be noisy, some streets feel a little rough at night as you go east of Clinton St, though I've never had any safety issues
Vibrant night life, plenty of young people (not a family environment, lots of noise), plenty of restaurants/coffee shops/vintage clothing stores.... close to the F,M,J,Z transit lines.
a bit far from the train station (F) and it's not the most reliable train. Nice is that there is a citibike station near by. neighborhood is a bit sketchy but its walking distance to LES and Chinatown which, for the price, makes it a good deal
Extremely fun area with tons of exciting bars and restaurants. As such, it is fairly loud and gets dirty.
Fun neighborhood. Its a huge bar scene and very young. The demographic seems to be a lot of young professionals and new families.
Close to school, lots of bars and restaurants and well communicated with public transportation
Lots of bars and restaurants, 20 minute walk from school
